The Key Bank branch at 501 Mill St. will close Dec. 6, the bank announced Friday.

Branch operations at the Mill Street location will be consolidated at the bank’s 200 Washington St. headquarters on Public Square, said Therese J. Myers, spokeswoman for Key Bank. Employees at the Mill Street branch will be relocated to other banks in the region. Information on where employees will be transferred was not available.

The decision to close the branch was based on the relatively low customer traffic there compared with other locations, Ms. Myers said.
