St. Lawrence Central gearing up for Hall of Fame, Homecoming Weekend

BRASHER FALLS - St. Lawrence Central will be inducting the class of 2013 into its Hall of Fame on Friday night, and holding its annual Homecoming Weekend as well this weekend with action on the home pitch and gridiron.

Homecoming Weekend kicks off Thursday with Celebrity Tip Night at The Riverview in Brasher Falls. Bring your team, your family, and your friends to dinner at The Riverview and be entertained by emcee Chris Normile and waited upon by St. Lawrence Central coaches. Proceeds from the tip jar go to the St. Lawrence Central athletic program.

Open House will be rocking at the elementary and high school buildings as well so you can enjoy a meal out on your way to meet at open house with school faculty and staff.

The St. Lawrence Central varsity girls’ will open the weekend play when they host St. Regis Falls at 4:30 p.m. Friday. There will be a $1 entry fee for the game.

The 15th class will be inducted into the St. Lawrence Central Hall of Fame at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the high school auditorium. The Class of 2013 includes Robert Sope, ‘58; Tony Arquiett, ‘83; Jamie Sutton, ‘88; Timothy Agans, ‘89; amd Joe Burley, ‘00; andf the 1984 girls’ basketball team. There will be a reception following the ceremonies at American Legion Post 514, Winthrop. This year’s event is sponsored by NuMed, SeaComm and American Legion Post 514.

The Homecoming Weekend will again include some tailgating action on Saturday. A $5 payment gets you a bracelet entitling you and a carload, truckload or boatload of friends to set up your grill, play some tunes and get ready for soccer and football action.

The SLC boys’ soccer will host Canton at 11 a.m. on the varsity field near the bus garage, and kickoiff slated for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Randy Riggs Field when the Larries football team welcomes Massena. Throughout each game there will be opportunities to win prizes and Larrie Spirit Wear. There is no entry fee for those who are tailgating, and a $1 ticket for those without the tailgating bracelet.

SLC would like to invite all Massena fans to show their Red Raider pride by joining the tailgate festivities.

There will be an After-Glow” event at the Riverview following the football game at the Riverview. Be sure to show your tailgate bracelet to your server.
