A Watertown couple on Friday afternoon was accused of extensive shoplifting at the Price Chopper Plaza, 1283 Arsenal St.
City police said Rhonda J., 33, and Scott L. Thomas, 31, of 1005 Bronson St., left Herb Phillipsons store about 1:30 p.m. with $264.97 worth of hooded sweatshirts.
Mrs. Thomas about a half-hour later then allegedly tried to take a cart containing $636.40 worth of groceries out of Price Chopper without paying for them.
She was charged with two counts of petit larceny, taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and held on $500 police bail.
Mr. Thomas was charged with one count of petit larceny, answerable in City Court.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Thomas have been charged with shoplifting on a multiple occasions since 2011.
