CANTON — The American Red Cross of Northern New York will host a free health services response workshop from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday in the large conference room on the second floor of St. Lawrence County Public Health, 80 Route 310.

The session will train licensed health care professionals on the responsibilities of an American Red Cross disaster health services volunteer. Upon completion of the training, participants will be prepared to assist people in emergency shelters. Following that, from 1 to 4 p.m., the agency will offer an optional disaster services overview course to prepare medical personnel who want to learn how to respond to a regional or national emergency with the Red Cross. Participants are asked to bring a bag lunch.

For more information or to register, call Brandi L. Wells at 386-2325. Overview course details can be obtained by calling Timothy J. Schwob at 265-7210.
