The Jefferson County Sheriffs Department is investigating a two-vehicle accident at 9:57 a.m. Wednesday at Route 37 and Route 11 in the town of Pamelia that injured a man on a motorcycle.
Police said Joshua L. Porkarski, 32, Ray, Mich., who was southbound on a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle on Route 11 when the crash occurred, was flown by LifeNet helicopter to a hospital.
According to the police report, Mary B. Boulio, 49, of 51 Bridge St., Carthage, who was driving a 2007 Toyota sedan, exited the driveway at 22443 Route 11 and entered the path of Mr. Porkarskis motorcycle, resulting in the motorcycle striking the rear of her car.
Ms. Boulio, who was not injured, was charged with unsafe lane change.
Mr. Porkarski was taken by ambulance to the nearby Northpole Fire Department station and was flown to Syracuse from there, police said.
State police, the Northpole Fire Department and Guilfoyle Ambulance personnel also responded to the accident scene.
Information about the extent of Mr. Porkarskis injuries or the hospital to which he was flown was unavailable; the investigation is continuing.
