State Street neighbors are the Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerces September honorees for its monthly Gateways and Corridors awards for business and home facade improvement.
Little Italy Pizzeria, 900 State St., and the home of Kathleen A. and Donald C. Wylie, 911 State St., are the honorees.
Chamber Executive Director Sandra M. Porter said Little Italy owner Joseph Cammisano has transformed the area with the restaurant and a former gas station next door that has been converted to an additional parking lot.
Which he improved tremendously, she said Wednesday. The whole area looks really nice.
Mr. Cammisano was unavailable for comment Wednesday.
The Wylies have just finished renovating and painting the exterior of their home, and interior work is under way.
It kind of brightens up the neighborhood, Ms. Porter said.
Were very honored, Mr. Wylie said Wednesday. It makes us feel good to be part of that group.
Mr. Wylie brush-painted the two-story house with his son, Jeremy J. He and his wife have lived there for 24 years, following his parents who lived in the house for 20 years.
