Belleville- Margaret M. Remington, 94, Belleville, passed away Wednesday, August 28th at the Samaritan Medical Center where she had been a patient since Monday, August 26th.

The funeral will be 2 pm Saturday, August 31st at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville. Burial will follow in Adams Rural Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, August 30th from 2 pm – 4 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm at the funeral home. Members of the Order of the Eastern Star Belleville, Eudora Chapter # 136 will conduct a memorial service 8 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.

Margaret was born in the Town of Worth, September 6, 1918, a daughter to Homer and Sadie Fayette Roberts. She graduated from Adams High School and received her teaching degree from Oswego Normal School.

Margaret married Robert Remington December 18, 1943. Mr. Remington passed away October 26, 2005.Mrs. Remington taught elementary education in several rural schools until accepting an elementary teaching position with Belleville Central School in 1952, retiring in 1976.

Margaret was a member and past matron with the Eudora Chapter Belleville #136 O.E.S., a member of the Good Neighbor Club in Belleville. She was a former member of the Lorraine Rebekahs and the Senior Citizens Bowling League in Adams.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Robert Parow, Sauquoit. Four grandchildren, Jeffrey Parow, Sauquoit; Ann (Colin) Mackey, Canton; Jennifer (Eugene, Jr.) Cronk, Adams; Ryan Parow, New York City. Four great grandsons, Jacob, Andrew and Nathan Cronk, and Remington “Remi” Mackey. One brother Donald Roberts, Sr., Lorraine. Many nieces and nephews. Six brothers Allen, Lawrence, Walter, Floyd, Vernon and W. Raymond Roberts, and two sisters Helen Barbur and Madeline Hanvey predeceased her.
