The following were charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:
n Jeremiah A. Matice, 30, of 88 Prospect St., Gouverneur, also was charged by state police with criminal contempt, menacing and reckless endangerment Friday night. Police said Mr. Matice violated an order of protection held by his former girlfriend during a dispute on Main Street in Hailesboro in which he is accused of pushing and punching her. Police said Mr. Matice then drove off in his vehicle after attempting to hit the woman, whom they did not identify, with his car. His BAC was 0.12 percent, police said. A BAC level of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law.
n Derrick C. Welch, 23, of 163 Winslow St., Watertown, was charged at 12:11 a.m. Sunday by state police at Route 11 and Owens Road in Adams Center with aggravated DWI. His blood alcohol content was 0.18 percent, police said. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more.
n Tracy A. Oates, 40, of 27352 Perch Lake Road, Watertown, also was charged by state police at 3:28 a.m. Tuesday at routes 342 and 12 in the town of Pamelia with driving without an inspection certificate and moving from lane unsafely. Her BAC was listed as 0.14 percent.
n Jerry M. Metheny II, 47, of 123 S. Meadow St., Apt. 4, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police in the 100 block of Arsenal Street at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday. He also was cited with third-degree unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and going the wrong way on a one-way street. His BAC was 0.14 percent, police said.
nCory A. Brown, 34, of 933 LeRay St., Watertown, was charged by St. Lawrence County sheriffs deputies Saturday on Route 37 in the town of Waddington with felony aggravated DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device and failure to keep right. His BAC was listed as 0.24 percent. The DWI charge was a felony due to a previous DWI conviction within the past 10 years.
