The Watertown Privateers have hired Brad Zangs as their new head coach for their fourth season in the Federal Hockey League, the Times has learned.

Zangs replaces Paul Kelly, a former player who last year served as both head coach and later player-coach for the Privateers.

Zangs has coaching experience in both the college and junior ranks, most recently with the Yellowstone Quake of the AWHL.

The Privateers, who have also changed their city name from Thousand Islands to Watertown, will open the 2013-14 season on Nov. 2 at Danbury. They will host Danville in their home opener on Nov. 8 at Watertown Municipal Arena.
