Honored: Jonathan French, building maintenance worker in the environmental service department, was named Employee of the Month at Massena Memorial Hospital for August. Along with gifts and a giftshop certificate, Mr. French received a designated parking spot for the month.
Notable donation: Stewarts Shop recently donated $250 to the Morley Library for use on childrens activities. The funds were used recently to purchase a Lego collection for the library.
Winners: The Health Initiatives Creating Healthy Places to Live, Work and Play project announced that Foxy Roxys Diner, Potsdam, won a commercial microwave as part of its St. Lawrence County Restaurant survey.
Fifty local diners, cafes and pubs were surveyed to determine if healthier options, meals, sides and childrens meals were on the menu and how they market food and drink, including healthier options.

Trevor C. Klock, radiology technology. He received the Elsevier Science Radiology Award. Mr. Klock, son of Charles and Lisa Klock, Theresa, is a 2011 graduate of Indian River Central School, Philadelphia.
Honored: Stacey Zeigler, physical therapy department clinical associate professor at Clarkson University, Potsdam, has been appointed to a national task force, commissioned by the American Physical Therapy Association. She will serve on the task force to define physical therapists role in prevention, wellness, fitness and disease management for public policy purposes. Ms. Zeigler has been a faculty member at Clarkson since 2003 and a licensed physical therapist since 1994. She received a doctorate in physical therapy in 2005 from Simmons College, Boston, Mass., and has 19 years of clinical experience in several settings.
Induction: Jefferson Community College, Watertown, inducted new members into the 2013 Distinguished Alumni and Cannoneer Hall of Fame at a ceremony on Aug. 15 at the Watertown Elks Lodge.
