Hunting, fishing and trapping licenses and deer management permits for the 2013-14 season were made available Monday by the state Department of Environmental Conservation.

Licenses and permits can be purchased at one of DEC’s 1,500 license outlets statewide. Sporting licenses also can be ordered by telephone or by visiting the department’s website, www.dec.ny.gov.

The 2013-14 sporting licenses are valid beginning Oct. 1. The new Hunting & Trapping and Freshwater Fishing regulation guides are available at all license-issuing outlets as well as on the DEC website.

Money from the sale of all sporting licenses is deposited into DEC’s conservation fund, which is used to manage the state’s fish and wildlife populations and protect and manage wildlife habitats.
