CANTON — SUNY Canton was granted a second year of provisional status last week as it attempts to become a full-time NCAA Division III athletic institution.

The Kangaroos completed their first year of provisional status last year and schools must go through four years before they are recommended for full membership.

“We’re honored to take the next step toward full NCAA Division III membership,” SUNY Canton athletic director Randy Sieminski said. “Our coaches, staff, faculty, administration, College Council and numerous departments campus-wide should be credited with their commitment toward this transitition. Their work and dedication is making it possible for us to successfully move forward.”
