POTSDAM Hankfest returns to Potsdam today, with a day of games and country music to raise money for charity.
The event starts at 1 p.m. with kids games, face painting, food and live country music from local bands.
It will be a big day, it will be a good day, said event organizer Gregory G. Bouchard.
Mr. Bouchard started Hankfest in 2006 as a tribute to country legend Hank Williams, inspired by an annual Chicago festival of the same name. Proceeds will be donated to the Potsdam Red Cross.
Our organization is there to help those who need it, Mr. Bouchard said.
About 500 people attended last years Hankfest.
This year, Mr. Bouchard will include a tribute to his mother, Anita A. Bouchard, who died in July at the age of 83.
Shell be very missed by all of her friends and her family, Mr. Bouchard said.
