A Mass of Christian Burial for 98-year old Mrs. Madeline P. Murray of Potsdam will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Canton, celebrated by her nephew, Rev. Stephen Murray. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ogdensburg, NY. There are no calling hours. Condolences may be sent on line c/o glennlseymour@gmail.com.

If friends desire, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Hospice and Palliative Care, 6805 U. S. Highway 11, Potsdam, NY 13676. Mrs. Murray died Sunday evening following a brief illness at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Potsdam, where she resided.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Wayne Thompson of Potsdam, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Jean; four sons: Robert, John, Phillip, and Ronald; and seven siblings: Jean Baptist, Samuel, Antoine, Paul, Therese, Gemma, and Eva.

Madeline was born in Bagotville, Quebec, Canada on September 23, 1914 the daughter of Alfred and Marie Luce (Tremblay) Pouliot. She married Jean B. Murray in 1938 and lived in Ogdensburg, Seaford, DE, Savanna, IL, Port Richey, FL, and most recently Potsdam, NY.

She loved taking walks and picking wild flowers. Madeline also enjoyed playing cards and board games, and watching game shows.

Arrangements are with the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam.
