WADDINGTON - The town’s 38th Annual Homecoming begins today with sand castles, a diaper derby and a teddy bear picnic.

Here is a full schedule of events:

TODAY

10 a.m. – Pet show at Town Hall Square. For more information, please contact June Dumas at 388-5674.

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Book sale at Library Community Room.

Noon – Teddy Bear Picnic at the Waddington Town Beach. For more information, contact Benny Fairchild at 388-5628.

1 p.m. – Sand castle contest at the Town Beach, sponsored by the Recreation Committee.

5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Ice cream social at Waddington United Methodist Church. For more information, please call 388-5568.

6:15 p.m. – Opening ceremony at Town Hall Square.

6:30 p.m. – Diaper Derby at Town Hall Square. For more information, call Shelly Shirley at 276-6327 or Wayne Santamont at 388-4390.

7 p.m. – Lip sync contest at Town Hall Square. (Registration is at 5:30 p.m.). For more information, contact Sheryl Evans at 276-0016. This event is sponsored by Phillips Memorial Home and Riverview of Waddington Motel.

9 p.m. – Music by Acoustic Brothers at the Old Town Hall.

SATURDAY

7 a.m. – Pancake breakfast at Waddington United Methodist Church. For more information, please call 388-5568.

7:30 a.m. – Registration for the 5K Run from Island View Park sponsored by the Waddington Volunteer Fire Department. Race starts at 9 a.m. For more information, contact Kevin Sharlow at 276-9040 or Jason Brown at 276-0723.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Book sale at the Library Community Room.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – The Boy Scouts will host a dunking booth at the Four Corners.

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Car show at Island View Park sponsored by the Waddington Volunteer Fire Department. Registration is at 10:30 a.m. For more information, contact Scott Kocher at 388-4801.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Craft, antique and flea market show at Town Hall Square. For more information, please contact Ms. Shirley at 276-6327 or Nancy Putney at 388-5576.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Boy Scouts dunk tank at Town Hall Square.

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Music by Donna Miller at the gazebo.

11 a.m. - Chicken barbecue at the Waddington Fire Hall.

Noon to 1 p.m. - Juggler Gravitational Bull performs at the Waddington Hepburn Library.

1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. - Karaoke with Rick Snyder at the Town Hall Square.

2:30 p.m. – Bed races on Main Street sponsored by Mack’s Tavern. For more information, call 388-5862.

5 p.m. – Parade lineup at Linden and Fenton streets.

6 p.m. – Parade from LaGrasse Street to Island View Park. For more information, contact John Mikolay at 388-5983 or waddingtonparade@gmail.com.

7 p.m. – Music by Double Barrel Blues at Island View Park.

8 p.m. – 14th Annual Duck Race from the Town Beach to Island View Park. For more information, please contact Sue Caswell at 388-4309.

Dusk – Fireworks at Island View Park.

SUNDAY

9 a.m. – Homecoming Ecumenical Service at the United Methodist Church.

Noon – Community picnic and “Cupcake War” at the Town Beach sponsored and catered by Seaway Diner & Smokehouse.

2 p.m. – Tube race from the Town Beach to Island View Park sponsored by the Waddington Sons of the American Legion.
