CLAYTON — One of the premier events held on the St. Lawrence River, the annual Antique Boat Show & Auction, kicks off Friday at the Antique Boat Museum on Mary Street.

The three-day event is the museum’s biggest fundraiser, where visitors can get up close and personal with more than 100 classic boats on the river.

The 49th annual show opens at 9 a.m. each day and runs until 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and until noon Sunday.

Antique Boat America’s auction has 40 vintage boats listed this year and will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday.

A single-day pass for adults will cost $15 Friday or Saturday and $13 Sunday. Admission for youths 17 and younger is $10 Friday or Saturday and $7 Sunday.

Museum members, active and retired members of the military and children 6 and younger get in for free.

A three-day pass costs $30 for adults and $20 for youths. Military spouses and children can get a weekend pass for $10 and $5, respectively.

During the show, several children’s activities will be held, including a special appearance by “Jake the Pirate” from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Additionally on Saturday, the museum will host “After Hours at the Boat Show” featuring live music by the Sam Hopkins Band, dinner and a cash bar from 7 to 9 p.m. catered by the Clipper Inn as well as after-hours access to the museum docks. Tickets are $28 per person; reservations may be made by calling the boat museum at 686-4104.

The weekend event ends with a parade at noon Sunday, but the museum will remain open until 5 p.m. that day.
