CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - MASSENA - Village police charged Benjamin C. Lapp, 16, of 24 Highland Park, Massena, with a felony count of third-degree assault at 8:28 p.m. Monday, where he lives with his uncle, Dana Parnaby. Lapp reportedly became upset when his uncle yelled at him for drinking his Diet Mountain Dew, threw the soda and punched Mr. Parnabys truck several times, leaving the truck with several dents.
FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY - MASSENA - A Rensselaer Falls woman is expected to be ticketed for following too closely following a two-vehicle crash at 12:55 p.m. Monday on state Route 37 at Bayley Road.
Village police said Karen M. Hebert, 55, of 6 Winters St., Rensselaer Falls, was westbound on state Route 37 when she rearended a vehicle operated by Sonya Lynn Rockhill, 27, of 121 Pike Road, Fort Covington.
Police said both vehicles suffered only minor damages and were driven from the scene.
Hebert was transported to Massena Memorial Hospital by Massena Rescue for treatment of a pre-existing medical issue, police said.
SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Jamie A. Chapmanm 38, of Randall Avenue, Massena, for speed in zone at 8:16 a.m. Monday following a traffic stop on the South Raquette River Road.
