POTSDAM - The winner of the Potsdam Ponderosa Free Bike Raffle from the Outer Market Mania & Touch-A-Truck Event during the Potsdam Summer Festival was nine-year-old Teddy Jarvis.

The UPS Store hosted the second annual Outer Market Mania & Touch-A-Truck Event during the 2013 Potsdam Summer Festival in the Save-A-Lot parking lot. More than 400 children attended this year’s event, which included trucks for youngsters to investigate, games & crafts, a bike rodeo, magic shows by Cubby T. Clown & Co. and dance performances by Step It Out Dance Studio, and 4-Ever Young Dancers, who dedicated a performance in memory of Garrett Phillips.

The committee would like to offer a special thank you to contributors from SeaComm Federal Credit Union and Verizon Wireless Zone, the Department of Public Works, Northern Music & Video, Sam’s Party Tents and Dan’s Plumbing and Heating.

This year’s event was made possible by the participation of local community members, businesses and organizations including the Potsdam Volunteer Fire Department, the Potsdam Police Department, the Potsdam Volunteer Rescue Squad, Bicknell Building Supply, the St. Lawrence County Health Initiative and St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, Triple ‘A’ Building Supply, Graymont, the Clarkson Robotics Team, Girls Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, Inc., Canton Potsdam Hospital, the Potsdam Food Co-op Concession Stand, National Grid, Cubby T. Clown & Co., Step It Out Dance Studio, 4-Ever Young Dancers, Tyler Hollis Champion Sport Stacker, Fantastic Faces by Jaleigh Pier, Arby’s, Verizon Wireless Zone, Q Country 102.9, SUNY Potsdam’s CLEAR, Big Lots, Kinney Drugs, Save-A-Lot, Potsdam Ponderosa, The UPS Store and volunteers from the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce.

“The success of this event is due to the generosity of our community members who come together to provide a fun and educational event that is free to the children of Potsdam and surrounding areas,” according to Janice Adderley, event organizer.

For more information on how to participate in next year’s event, contact Janice Adderley at The UPS Store (315) 265-4565 or Marylee Ballou at the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce Office (315) 274-9000.
