PARISHVILLE - A 14-year old Parishville girl plans to raise money for the schools music program and provide entertainment for the community with a Musicality event.
This will be the second year for her program. Musicality 2012 was successful in raising $2000.00 in cash and repair kits, for The Parishville Hopkinton Central School music program. She hopes this year will be a success also.
Amanda J. Mason said she chose a project based on music, because it is important to her.
The most important thing in my life is music, she said in her concert announcement. So I decided to organize a musical event for any musicians from the whole county to perform for Parishville, and any neighboring community residents that wanted to come and watch.
All profits from the event will benefit the Parishville-Hopkinton Central School music program.
Ms. Mason is hoping to gain support from local musical acts throughout the county. She said she is looking for musicians who are willing to volunteer their services both as performers and teachers.
The event is planned for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Parishville Fire Hall, 25 Rutman Road, off County Route 47.
Ms. Mason said volunteers are needed for set up and clean up, preparing and distributing food, ticket sales, musical performers, raffle sales and anyone interested in offering children short lessons on anything musical.
Those interested in donating items for raffles or money toward Ms.Masons cause should call 265-8775 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org or mail 31 Woodruff Road, Colton, NY 13625.
