POTSDAM SUNY Potsdam inducted three players and two teams into the Bears Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Bears hockey standout Chris Lee, who graduated in 2004 and went on to play professionally, headed the individuals, which also included basketball player Edane Barton and lacrosse player Chris Mele.
The 1972-73 wrestling team and the 1995-96 mens hockey team also were inducted.
Lee, a native of MacTier, Ontario, is 10th all-time in program history with 115 points. He won SUNYAC Player of the Year honors in 2004. The former American Hockey League and East Coast Hockey League player competed in Sweden last season.
Barton is in the top 10 in scoring and rebounding on Potsdams all-time basketball list. Barton, from Spring Valley, played on two SUNYAC championship teams, being named MVP each time.
Mele, who is from Albany, scored 167 points in his career, which is fourth all-time in Bears history. His 125 goals are second all-time. He was captain for the Bears over two seasons.
The 1995-96 mens hockey team is the only Potsdam squad to win the SUNYAC championship. Under coach Ed Seney, the Bears went 18-10-2 and beat Oswego and Plattsburgh in the playoffs. The 1972-73 wrestling team won the SUNYAC Championship during the first year of Maxcy Hall. Under coach Neil Johnson, Potsdam went 12-1 in dual meets.
