HEUVELTON - It was a very successfull season for the Heuvelton Modified Softball team under Cassie Fobare in 2013.

Suffering just one loss, to Lisbon in game three, the Heuvelton Bulldogs finished 13-1 and blanked the Golden Knights the second meeting and defeated Hammond twice.

“We had just a great season and the girls really worked hard. We defended well and had some great pitching and some excellent games where we hit very well as a team,” said coach Fobare.

Members of the team were: Kaitlin Kilborne, Nathalie Barr, Alexandra Steele, Sydney Thornhill, Brooke Armstrong, Jaelin Calkins. Brittany Fifield, Allysa Johnson, Karina Warren, Erin Kennedy, Keden Mack, Victoria Scott, Kristi Donnelly. Katie Palmer, Frankie Jo Besio, Morgan Sharp and Paige Weston,

Heuvelton 16, Hermon-DeKalb 9: Barr pitched the win and went 2-4 with a double and three runs scored for Heuvelton. Other major contributions came from: Palmer (1-5), K. Warren (1-3), Mack (1-2 Double), J. Calkins (1-2), Besio (1-2), and Kennedy (1-2 3 runs scored).

Heuvelton 24, Morristown 6: Mack and Sharpe each belted homeruns to back up K. Donnelly who pitched the win and scored four runs for the Bulldogs. Besio (1-3), Weston (1-2), Palmer (1-2), and Thornhill (1-2) also contributed.

Lisbon 16, Heuvelton 12: In Lisbon, the Bulldogs couldn’t hold off a Knight rally in the sixth inning and couldn’t generate one of their own in the seventh.

For Heuvelton, S. Thornhill belted a homerun and a single while Mack (1-3 triple), Steele (2-4), Warren (1-4), Barr (1-1), Calkins (2-2), Armstrong 1-2, Sharpe (1-1), and Kilborne (1-2) contributed.

Heuvelton 26, Clifton-Fine 3: Donnelly pitched the win and finished 2-5 with a double for the Bulldogs. Other contributors were: Palmer (1-3), Calkins (1-3), Besio (1-2), S. Thornhill (1-3), Armstrong (1-2 double), Scott (2-3), Barr (1-3), Kennedy (2-2), Mack (1-3), Weston (1-3), Johnson (1-4), Sharpe (2-2), and Steele (2-3).

Heuvelton 20, Edwards-Knox 0: Barr exploded for a 5-5 effort at the plate with a double and pitched the win. Mack finished 4-4 with a double and a triple while Donnelly (1-2), Steele (3-3), Warren (2-4), Thornhill (1-3), Scott (2-2 double), Palmer (1-2 double), Calkins (1-4), Armstrong (3-5), and Weston (1-2) all contributed.

Heuvelton 13, Hammond 8: S. Thornhill pitched the win with excellent offensive support from Palmer (1-4), Scott (2-3), Barr (1-2), Steele (1-2 double), Warren (1-3), Armstrong (1-4), Calkins (1-3), Besio (1-2), Scott (2-2), and Weston (2-4).

Heuvelton 18, Harrisville 0: In the first game of a doubleheader Weston (2-3 double), Sharpe (1-2), Fifield (1-2), Palmer (1-1), Armstrong (1-1), Warren (1-2), and Barr (1-2) contributed offensively while Barr pitched the shutout.

Heuvelton 17, Harrisville 0: Palmer (2-2), Calkins (1-2) double, Steele (1-1), Barr (1-1), Scott (1-1), Kilborne (1-2), and Sharpe (1-2) provided the offense.

Heuvelton 12, Hermon-DeKalb 0: K. Donnelly pitched the win and went 1-3 with a triple to highlight the win were Heuvelton took advantage of 12 walks with hits from : Palmer (1-1), Warren (2-2), and Barr (1-2).

Heuvelton 16, Morristown 6: Palmer belted a homerun and two singles in a 3-5 effort and Barr pitched the win and finished 1-2 with a triple and four runs scored. Other contributions were: V. Scott (2-3), Besio (2-2), Mack (1-2), Fifield (1-1), Armstrong (1-2), Sharpe (1-2), and Kilborne (1-2).

Heuvelton 21, Lisbon 0: The Bulldogs reversed their lone loss behind the pitching from Barr who started and won and supplied a 5-5 effort at the plate with three runs scored.

Other offensive contributions came from: Donnelly (1-5), Palmer (1-4), Fifield (1-1), Steele (3-3), Besio (1-1), Warren (3-4), S. Thornhill (2-3), Mack (2-2 triple), V. Scott (3-3), Armstrong (2-2), Weston (1-3 triple), and Kilborne (1-2).

Heuvelton 20, Clifton-Fine 2: Scoring in every inning, the Bulldogs won at home as Thornhill (3-4 triple), Mack (3-4 homerun), V. Scott (3-3 triple), Steele (3-3 double), Besio (1-3), Fifield (1-3), Donnelly (1-3), Armstrong (1-1), Weston (1-3), and Kilborne (2-4) all contributed to back Thornill’s pitching.

Heuvelton 13, Edwards-Knox 5: Donnelly pitched the win and contributed a 3-5 effort at the plate with a double. Other contributions came from: Thornhill (1-2), Mack (1-1), Warren (3-4), Scott (1-2), Steele (4-5), Fifield (1-3), Armstrong (1-3), Besio (1-2), Sharpe (1-1), and Kilborne (2-2).

Heuvelton 7, Hammond 2: In a preview of future varsity action, Hammond gave the Bulldogs their closest game for the second half of the season. For Heuvelton, Barr (1-4 double), Palmer (1-3), Mack (1-3), Warren (1-3), Calkins (1-3), Scott (1-3), and Weston (1-2) all contributed.
