Two men were charged with punching and injuring a third man early Thursday at a Coffeen Street tavern.

Michael J. Umbro, 35, of 10614 5th Armored Division Drive, Apt. 144, Fort Drum, and Jeremias M. Quintanar, 25, of 629 Lillian St., Apt. 1, were charged by Watertown police at 2:06 a.m. with third-degree assault.

It is alleged that about 1:40 a.m. at Joe’s Tavern, 548 Coffeen St., the pair struck Brian R. Swank, 904 Academy St., in the face, causing a cut to his nose and swelling around his eyes. Police did not specify if the altercation occurred inside or outside of the tavern.

Both men were issued appearance tickets for City Court.
