GRAND LARCENY - NORTH LAWRENCE - A North Lawrence teenager faces numerous charges following an investigation into an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle complaint filed with troopers at 6:50 a.m. Thursday from the town of Lawrence.
Winthrop-based state police charged Katrina A. Morley, 16, with third-degree grand larceny and ticketed her for operation of a vehicle with an improper license, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to keep right, failure to use designated lane and speeding.
Troopers said she took a vehicle belonging to her mothers boyfriend, James Yaddow, without his permission in the overnight hours and was enroute to take a friend home when she drove off the roadway to avoid striking a deer that had entered Green Road in the town of Hopkinton. Troopers said Yaddows vehicle suffered significant damage.
The arrest was made at 10:26 a.m. Thursday at 11804 state Route 11, Lot 4, town of Lawrence.
TWO INJURED - POTSDAM - Canton-based state police said two people were injured in an accident at 9:11 p.m. Thursday on state Route 56, near Pleasant Valley Road, in the town of Potsdam. Troopers said the vehicle was being operated by Kimberly D/ Damon, 44, of Potsdam.
STOLEN PROPERTY - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Sirgrady K. Law, 50, of Manchester, N.H., with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana following a secondary inspection at 9 a.m. Thursday at the U.S. port of entry in Rooseveltown. U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents said Law was in possession of a stolen credit card belonging to Linda M. Atallah of Tonawanda and had two three-foot cane swords in the back seat of his 2003 Lincoln Navigator. Police said the swords are illegal in New York state and Law is also not allowed to possess weapons because he has three misdemeanor convictions in the state. He was convicted of criminal possession of a controlled substance in November 1989, aggravated harassment in August 1990 and attempted menacing in October 1997. He was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT - MALONE - Malone-based state police charged Courtney J. Labar, 21, of St. Regis Falls with second-degree reckless endangerment and Jenna P. Rousell. 21, of Malone with third-degree assault on Thursday following an investigation into an incident reported at 1:30 a.m. June 23 in the town of Malone.
PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - CANTON - State police investigated a number of property damage accident accidents around the region Thursday. Among those were:
■ Dawn M. Reardon, 37, of St. Regis Falls at 12:40 p.m. on County Route 5, near Decker Road, in the town of Dickinson.
■ Dagmar J. Becker, 55, of Stouffville, Ont., at 8:13 a.m. on state Route 3, near Lone Pine Road, in the town of Colton.
