There is something wrong with this scenario. Sixty years ago, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed. Their crime: in the 1940s, they had passed on to Russia classified info about our atom bomb. We were not at war with Russia. Now, we have Edward Snowden who has passed on to our enemies through the Guardian and the Washington Post classified info about our intelligence gathering. We are at war, declared or not, with the terrorists who now know one of our methods of flushing them out.
If (a very big if) we catch Snowden, bring him to trial and convict him, what is his sentence? A maximum of 10 years. Incredible.
