James C. Cassidy, 88, of 706 S. Massey St., Watertown, passed away June 15, 2013 at his home.

He was born on March 1, 1925 in Watertown, NY, son of John Cassidy and Mary Ellen Brennon.

He graduated from IHA in 1943 and following school he served in the US Army. He married Constance L. Morehouse on July 4, 1952 at the Hope Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Cassidy worked at the Watertown Daily Times since 1945 where he held various positions, retiring in 1987 after 41 years of service. He belonged to the Brownville American Legion, enjoyed working on the computer and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

His wife Constance, also worked for the Watertown Daily Times, she passed on September 15, 1979.

Among his survivors are his daughter and son in law, Patricia E. and Scott E. Thomas, Watertown; a granddaughter, Caitlin M. Hoistion; a grandson, Daniel J. Hoistion; a great granddaughter, Sophia Lynn Hoistion all of Bridge Water, NJ; several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, Edward and Frank Cassidy and three sisters, Pearl Doney, Luella Cassidy and Eileen Briggs all passed before him.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service. A private graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association 216 Haley St., Watertown, NY 13601.
