HEUVELTON - Excellent pitching and defense anchored a pair of wins for the Heuvelton AmVets in Kiwanis Girls Softball action.

The AmVets downed the Ladies of the Moose and Source Capital.

AmVets def Ladies of Moose: Emma Ladouceur, Kelsey Williams and Molly Williams combined for 11 strikeouts and Cyera McNamara belted a homerun to lead the winners. Celia Henry went 2/2 and Rayna Cameron also had two hits. Katie Rogers and Abby Raven pitched for the Ladies of the Moose and Rogers also made two outstanding defensive stops.

AmVets 11 - Source Capital 1: Kelsey and Molly Williams and Madison McCormick combined for 12 strikeouts pitching the win to Josie Carter and Emily Streeter who have provided excellent defensive play behind the plate in the past five games.

Emma Ladouceur and Emily Streeter led the defense in the field while Grace Mills and Amber Cunningham paced the offense. Emma Stemples and Alexa McKee combined for seven strikeouts for Source Capital, Brooke Mashaw doubled, Emma Stemples made two nice catches and Rileigh Oshier produced an RBI.

COPE Consultants 21 - Defelsko 7: Hope Walker, Amanda Walker and Annah Burdick combined for a 10-strikeout three-hitter and lined three hits each to spark the winners. Caysie Lampett lead COPE at the plate with four hits and Abigail Wilhelm, Gabrielle Kroeger, Deanna Teele and Stephanie Skeels also hit safely.

Jay Dawley, Lynee Lesperance and Tenielle Smith pitched well for DeFelsko with Julia L’orange, Lesperance and Shelby Ross chipping in singles.
