A Watertown resident was charged Friday morning after allegedly making a false statement to city police.
Police said Aaron J. Bell, 37, of 736 W. Main St., Apt. 5, falsely reported a burglary and criminal mischief at his residence June 2.
Charged with third-degree falsely reporting an incident at his residence at 8:27 a.m. Friday, he was held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $500 bail pending arraignment in City Court.
He was charged in early March with the same offense, with police alleging that he did so in an attempt to obtain benefits from the Jefferson County Department of Social Services.
