OGDENSBURG — A U.S. flag is flying over the Robert C. McEwen Customs House again.

The flag was removed from the building’s flagpole several weeks ago in advance of a project slated to begin in July.

As part of the project, the flagpole will be moved to make way for a communications tower.

Several city residents objected to having the flag removed from the building. Mayor William D. Nelson said Friday he would direct city employees to raise and lower the flag if the federal government wouldn’t do so on its own. Mr. Nelson said a light will shine on the flag, allowing it to fly at night.
