Gouverneur – Robert S. Law, 83, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 at E.J. Noble Hospital, Gouverneur.

There are no calling hours, and a graveside service will be held Friday, May 24th at 2:00 pm at the East Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur with Rev. Howard Maxson, pastor of Fowler Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are with the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.

Robert was born November 23, 1929 in Fowler, the son of Harold and Lazena Boclair.

He attended schools in the Fowler area and received his general equivalency diploma later in life.

Robert served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Robert operated a repair garage in Hailesboro and a taxi service in the 1960’s. He also was employed by the Town of Gouverneur, Gouverneur Central School, operated a hobby farm, and sold produce from his stand on Hailesboro Street.

Robert had previously been married to Elizabeth Nichols, Thelma O’Grodnik, and Connie Fuller.

He had been a member of the American Legion and the VFW in Gouverneur, enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, collecting coins, and using his strong work ethic to provide for his family.

Robert is survived by his sons Robert and Debbie Law of West Virginia, Steve Law of Great Bend, Bradley Law and his companion Yvonne Miller of Gouverneur, Scotty and Tammy Law of Gouverneur, Billy Law and his companion Joanna Norsworthy of Antwerp, his daughters Donna and Terry Pett of Nebraska, Sandra Law of Cortland, Stacey Law of Whitesboro, Sharon Law of Cortland, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters Helen Popple of Bath, Carole Passmore of Horseheads, several nieces and nephews. Robert is predeceased by his parents and a brother Harold Law Jr.
