The annual Artist Studio Tour, held along the U.S. side of the St. Lawrence River, runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Art studios in Alexandria Bay, Redwood, Wellesley Island, Orleans, Clayton and Cape Vincent are included in the tour, with 29 artists displaying their works at 20 locations. There will be some demonstrations and some locations will have a guest artist.
There will be painters in oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, encaustic, gouache and other media, potters, sculptors in wood, clay, metal and paper, stained glass, weavers, ceramics and photographers.
The free tour is self-driven. Brochure maps are available at studio stops marked by signs or at north country libraries, chambers of commerce in Alexandria Bay, Clayton and Cape Vincent, the Thousand Islands Tourism Council at Collins Landing, the Thousand Islands Arts Center and the Thousand Islands Museum in Clayton, Interstate 81 northbound rest stop near Alexandria Bay, North Country Arts Council on Public Square and Jefferson County Historical Society in Watertown, Seaway Trail in Sackets Harbor and the Sackets Harbor Arts Center.
