Notable Donation: March Brown, South Jefferson Central School, Adams, employee, was the winner of the 50/50 raffle held at the Spring Fling and hosted by Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) Local 823. Ms. Brown donated $179 to the Jefferson County SPCA. The Rev. Doug Marlow SPCA director, received the donation on behalf of the organization.

Promoted: Joshua Wangerin, Antwerp, and Joshua Massey, Evans Mills, were recently promoted in the Army National Guard. Mr. Wangerin, 1427th Transportation Company, was promoted to private first class, and Mr. Massey, Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 102nd Military Police Battalion, was promoted to specialist.
Accepted to college
Accepted to college: Michael Morgan, Carthage, has been accepted to fall enrollment at Stevenson University, Owings Mills, Mr. Morgan, a senior at Carthage Central School, will major in business administration.
Receives scholarship: Alexander Farrell, graduating senior at Ogdensburg Free Academy, recently received a $300 math/science award from the Franklin-St. Lawrence NYSUT/UUP Retirees. Mr. Farrell, son of Michael Farrell, Ogdensburg, and Penny Dardaris, Endicott, plans to attend SUNY Brockport to major in physical education. He hopes to teach physical education, adaptive physical education, leading to a career as a high school athletic director.
Construction project. Krista McCabe, Antwerp, and Jenna Singer, Clayton, are members of an all-female construction project at SUNY Delhi. The students are building a footbridge to be placed over Addison Pond.

To receive deans list honors at Washington and Lee University for the winter term, students must receive a grade point average between 3.4 to 3.74.

Receives masters degree: Carrie Hall, daughter of Jon and Karen Hall, Watertown, received a masters degree in music on May 5 from Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. Ms. Hall graduated with honors in 2005 from Watertown High School and received a bachelors degree with honors in music in 2009 from Ithaca College. She is currently on leave from Oneonta Central School District, where she teaches elementary music.
Fort Drum, Watertown
Honored: Belinda G. Jones, Fort Drum, and Vidhi V. Udeshi, Watertown, both students at Jefferson Community College, Watertown, were named to the All-New York Academic Team for Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society for community colleges. Ms. Jones, who received an associates degree in human services from JCC in 2012, has a grade point average of 4.0 and will receive an associates degree in humanities and social sciences. Ms. Udeshi, a 2011 graduate of Watertown High School, has a grade point average of 3.44 and will receive an associates degree in business administration.
Honored: Drew Laemmermann, Watertown, recently received the Student Life Leadership and Scholarship at SUNY Delhis Student Life Leadership Award Ceremony. Mr. Laemmermann is majoring in construction management.

Honored: Several local area students at Buffalo State College were recently honored for academic achievement at the colleges honors convocation. Students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and a minimum of 45 credit hours.
