COLTON - The town of Colton, including the hamlet of South Colton and outlying areas, has formed a committee to research interest in obtaining high speed (broadband) internet access. The committee is attempting to identify residents and businesses that currently have no internet access or have dial-up or satellite connections.

The committee is asking for input from our permanent and seasonal residents as well as business owners and those outside the town who own property in Colton. Responses must be returned no later than June 8. The committee is working with SLIC Network Solutions, Inc,. on a grant application that will be submitted later in June.

Responses may be mailed to Grace Hawley, 94 Main St., Colton, NY 13625 or dropped off at the Town Clerk’s office. Please direct questions to Grace at ghawley2000@yahoo.com or call her at 262-2439. You may also contact Lyn Swafford at swafford@northnet.org.

The committee is also collecting letters of support for the grant application. If you would like to provide a letter, please email your letter to Grace at ghawley2000@yahoo.com or mail your letter to her at the address given above. You may also drop off your letter at the Town Clerk’s office or email Donna at clerk1@townofcolton.com.
