FIVE INJURED - FORT COVINGTON - A two-vehicle accident in Fort Covington on Saturday sent five people to local hospitals for minor injuries and resulted in one driver being ticketed.

According to Malone-based state troopers, Matthew J. Hall, 25, of Massena was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound on state Route 37 when he tried to turn into Twin Leaf and struck a 2007 Dodge Caravan operated by Camille L. White, 31, of Fort Covington. White was driving in the westbound lane.

Troopers said Hall was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way. Hall, along with passengers Elizabeth Bushey, Olivia Hall, and Tiana Hall were transported to Massena Memorial Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries and released the same day. Halle Lazore, a passenger in White’s vehicle, was taken to Alice Hyde Medical Center, where she was treated for unspecified injuries and later released. White and three other passengers were not injured.

Both the Cavalier and the Caravan had to be towed from the scene.
