■ Family Counseling Service of Northern New Yorks annual Kentucky Derby Day fundraiser, held May 4 at the Italian American Civic Association, 192 Bellew Ave., raised about $12,250 for childrens therapy services.
■ LOWVILLE An ATM is available at the Lewis County office building on North State Street. The county, whose only obligation is to provide power and a data connection, will receive a percentage of collected transaction fees.
■ CANTON St. Lawrence County legislators recently made personal donations to plant 27 trees around county property in Canton. Trees planted included flowering crabs, hackberries, shagbark hickories, burr oaks, black walnuts and chestnuts.
■ CARTHAGE Town of Wilna Supervisor Paul H. Smith reported at the Town Council meeting Monday that the transfer station on Avery Road had been inspected by Jennifer Lauzon, engineer for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, who found no problems.
