Smith helps power Norwood-Norfolk

NORWOOD — Cody Smith went 3-for-4 to lead the Norwood-Norfolk baseball team to a 24-0 rout of Chateaugay in a Northern Athletic Conference East Division game in Norwood Friday.

Brandon Short, Colby Munson and Barry Labarr each produced two hits for the Flyers (13-2 overall, 11-1 division). Chateaugay (4-7) produced just two hits.

TUPPER LAKE 16, ST. REGIS FALLS 5

The Lumberjacks scored nine runs in the top of the first inning and went on to defeat the Saints (1-13) in an East Division game at Tupper Lake.

Mitch Keniston produced two hits, and Devin Larson allowed only three for Tupper Lake (5-8).

MORRISTOWN 10, CLIFTON-FINE 2

Bobby Simmons struck out 12 to lead the Green Rockets (10-4) past the Eagles in a West Division game at Star Lake.

Luke King produced three hits for Morristown and Devin Dulmage, Dakota Marshall and Jake VanArnam each lined two hits.

Matt Russell singled twice to lead the Eagles (5-9).

LISBON 6, EDWARDS-KNOX 5

Lisbon (4-10) took advantage of eight walks and four hit batters to defeat Edwards-Knox in a West Division game in Russell.

Kaden Dandrow doubled twice and also singled for the Cougars (5-9, 5-7).

HEUVELTON 25, HAMMOND 3

Jack Palmer struck out 11 as the Bulldogs completed a perfect West Division season with a win over the Red Devils (4-10) in Hammond.

Aaron Cobb finished with three hits, including a double, for Heuvelton (14-0). Mike Guardino and Jon Sloan each produced two hits for Heuvelton. Cullen Martin and Chris Sherron doubled and singled for Hammond.

HARRISVILLE 14, HERMON-DEKALB 3

Nathan Weaver struck out 10 and went 3-for-5 with three RBIs to lead the Pirates past the Demons (0-13) in a West Division game in Harrisville.

Justin Brackett went 4-for-4, and Nick Weir added two hits for Harrisville (14-3, 12-2).

Pat Woodrow went 2-for-2 for the Demons.

SALMON RIVER 6, MASSENA 3

Bert Gray pitched a complete game to lead the Shamrocks (2-10, 2-9) in a Central Division game in Massena.

Zach Rusaw drove in two runs for Massena (7-9, 5-6) with a first-inning triple.

SOFTBALL

HEUVELTON 10, HAMMOND 1

Hannah Thornhill and Paige McCormick each homered to lead the Bulldogs past the Red Devils (9-5) in a West Division game in Hammond.

Alexis Swayer and Rachel Thornhill both produced two-hit games for the Bulldogs (16-2, 14-0).

EDWARDS-KNOX 2, LISBON 1

Makayla Bacon struck out 10 to lead the Cougars (10-6, 8-5) past the Golden Knights in a West Division game in Russell. Sarah Rice drove in Sam Ellison from third base with a one-out single in the bottom of the seventh to give the Cougars the win.

Lisbon fell to 10-4.

HERMON-DEKALB 12, HARRISVILLE 8

Courtney Harrington struck out eight and produced three hits to lead the Demons (4-12, 3-11) past the Pirates in a West Division game in Harrisville.

Brooke Woodrow lined two hits for the Demons. Hannah Weaver and Jena Soper led the Pirates (5-11, 5-9) with two-hit games.

MORRISTOWN 10, CLIFTOn-FINE 0

Taylor Piercey gave up just two hits to shut out the Eagles (2-12) as the Green Rockets won a West Division game at Star Lake.

Jessica Geddes hit a three-run homer for the Green Rockets (4-10), and Liz Troiano, Margret Troiano and Sam Green each singled twice.

MASSENA 16, SALMON RIVER 10

Mackenzie Young, Bailey Dillabough, Addy Rufa and Chelsea Streeter each lined two hits as the Red Raiders (6-4) defeated the Shamrocks in a Central Division game in Massena.

Melanie Taylor finished with three hits, including a two-run homer, for the Shamrocks (1-10). Taylor Armstrong lined two hits for Salmon River.

BOYS LACROSSE

SARANAC LAKE 5, OFA 4

Quinn Marquart scored his second goal of the game with 30 seconds left to lead the Red Storm (4-11, 4-10) in an NAC game in Saranac Lake.

Seth Pickering and Jeff Stevens each delivered one goal and one assist for the Red Storm.

Andrew Roddy led OFA (2-12, 2-11) with a three-goal effort.

GIRLS LACROSSE

MASSENA 21, HEUVELTON 9

Erin Francis tallied seven goals and four assists as the Red Raiders (13-3, 11-1) clinched the NAC championship with a win over the Bulldogs in Massena.

Alisha Jacobs totaled six goals and five assists for Massena, and Dominique Valancius added three goals with two assists.

Olivia St. Pierre scored six goals to lead Heuvelton (3-12, 2-10). Jackie Sovie added two goals for the Bulldogs.
