An Ogdensburg woman faces felony assault charges after she allegedly struck a state trooper in the head with a motorcycle helmet Saturday.

State police said they were called about 6 p.m. to a domestic dispute off Morley Park Drive, where they encountered Terri L. Devries, 29. Ms. Devries became combative, troopers said, and hit an officer with the helmet, causing a bruise.

Ms. Devries was arrested at 6:45 p.m. and charged with a felony count of assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon; criminal mischief, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all class A misdemeanors, and second-degree harassment, a violation.

She was arraigned in Oswegatchie Town Court and committed to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $15,000 bail or $30,000 bond.
