A Syracuse-Indiana rematch of this years NCAA Sweet 16 mens basketball game is already a reality.
The two teams will be part of the 15th annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge, and will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Carrier Dome in one of 12 games between the two conferences. ESPN will carry all of the games on its family of networks. Times and networks will be determined later.
Syracuse is moving to the ACC for the upcoming season along with former Big East rivals Pittsburgh and Notre Dame.
SU upset the top-seeded Hoosiers 61-50 in the NCAA East Region semifinals at the Verizon Center in Washington en route to a Final Four appearance in March.
The Orange now hold a 4-1 lead in the series with Indiana. The only loss was in the 1987 national championship game. The five previous meetings all came on neutral courts.
It was previously announced that ACC powers Duke and North Carolina will visit the Dome this coming season. Also visiting are Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Boston College, Miami, Clemson, Georgia Tech and North Carolina State in conference games.
In the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, Pitt plays host to Penn State and Notre Dame visits Iowa. Also, Michigan visits Duke, North Carolina travels to Michigan State, Florida State is at Minnesota, Illinois visits Georgia Tech, Maryland plays at Ohio State, Miami is at Nebraska and Virginia hosts Wisconsin.
SU is also reportedly working on a three-year deal with Villanova that would have the Wildcats playing at the Dome next season.
