LISBON - Heuvelton scored four insurance runs on three hits and three errors in the seventh inning to earn a 6-1 victory over Lisbon in Northern Athletic Conference West Division action.
It was a great game until we had a couple of mistakes in the seventh, said LCS Coach Renee Robinson whose team fell to 8-3 while Heuvelton improved to 13-2, 11-0 NAC West.
We were down 2-0 but Heuvelton took advantage of a few mistakes defensively. That four-run inning could have been worse if Alison Mitchell didnt make a great catch to end the inning.
Paige McCormick started the inning off with a single and Rachel Thornhill delivered a RBI triple and Miranda Donnelly connected for a RBI double in the seventh. Abby Basford also recorded an RBI in the inning.
Rachel Thornhill had a triple and a single while Alexis Sawyer also connected for a single in the game where Alyshia Murray took the loss only allowing five hits and one free pass - an intentional walk to Hannah Thornhill.
Alexis Weidner fanned four batters and allowed three hits, three walks and one hit batter in the win. Murray tripled in the sixth for Lison while Gabby Walker and Katie Sovie each singled.
Alex Amo scored LCSs lone run after a walk in the seventh.
Hammond 14, Morristown 12: Nine runs in the sixth inning propelled the 8-4 Red Devils past the homestanding 2-8 Rockets as Gabby Marshall delivered three singles and Bridget Kron stroked two singles backing up Taylor Bowmans win on the mound.
Mikayla Horton smacked a triple while Emily Bush chipped in a double. Macy Wilson and Alyssa Crosby each connected for a basehit.
Hailey Whitmarsh and Karissa Bertrand each stroked doubles for Morristown. Sam Green, Taylor Piercey,. Margret Troiano, Erica Fishel each chipped in a basehit. Piercey had two strikeouts in the loss.

Gouverneur 18, Salmon River 3: Mackenzie Rowe spun a two strikeout, five hitter as Megan Cook went 4-5 with a double, four runs scored and two RBI and Katie Andrews finished 2-4 with a triple and a double and four RBI as the 3-7, 2-5 NAC Central Wildcats took a quick 7-0 first inning lead made it 13-3 after three. Danielle Bullock was 3-4 with a double, three runs scored and two RBI while Kortnee Bishop was 2-4 with two RBI. Lisa Isereau connected for a triple and asingle. Melanie Taylor lined two singles for Salmon River (1-8). Shayna Travers added an RBI double while Teioshontathe Herne (RBI) and Ghostlaw each singled.
Norwood-Norfolk 20, Potsdam 5: Katie Ames fanned seven batters and allowed one run and one hit for four innings and Courtney Wagstaff struckout two batters and allowed four runs for the Flyers (13-2) . Carley Weaver smacked a double and two singles for N-N while Mickey Fregoe and Courtney Harvey each singled twice. Amy Arno and Megan Oney singled for Potsdam (1-8).
