Two people are facing drug charges following a traffic stop on Route 12 in Burrville that revealed items inside the vehicle that could be used in a methamphetamine manufacturing operation.

Arrested early Wednesday on a charge of third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine were Miranda L. Cronk, 26, of 6892 Erie Canal Road, Lowville, and Michael S. Hill, 33, of 19226 Route 11, Watertown.

They were arrested on the Class D felony charges after Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies determined that they had equipment and chemicals to make meth, according to Watertown Town Court documents.

After determining probable cause, they obtained a warrant to search the vehicle, according to a spokesman from the sheriff’s department.

The pair possessed plastic and glass tubing, the drug ephedrine, household drain cleaner, ice picks, camping fuel and lithium batteries, according to an accusatory instrument felony complaint filed by Deputy Joel S. Dean, who made the traffic stop at shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday.

The sheriff’s department could not say whether the two had been making meth or where they were going with the items.

They were arraigned in Watertown Town Court. Ms. Cronk was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $10,000 bail, while Mr. Hill was sent there on no bail.
