St. Lawrence, Clarkson place 4 on first team

Three St. Lawrence University players and one player from Clarkson were named to the first team on the all-Liberty League baseball squad Wednesday.

Leading the way for SLU was senior Carter Franz, a three-time selection, who hit .380. Junior pitcher Joe Riley (7-1, 1.39 earned-run average) and junior Khifer O’Connor (.394) also made the first team. Clarkson was represented by pitcher Bryan Chudy, who went 4-3 with a 2.64 earned-run average.

Clarkson pitcher Greg Jasek, who posted a 1.88 earned-run average, was named to the second team and was also named Rookie of the Year. SLU’s Bryan Palermo and Kevin Prindle made the second team joining Clarkson’s John Coleman and David Wixted.

SLU’s Jeff Kott and Clarkson’s Tim Beninati were named honorable mention.
