Today, the Jefferson County Board of Elections released a standardized Non-Partisan Designating Petition form to be used for all City of Watertown elections starting with the 2013 election cycle.

The form was developed to standardize the process for all those interested in running for office in the City of Watertown and to conform to the laws that set up the city’s non-partisan election system in 1920.

“This form will be the standard designating petition distributed and accepted by the Jefferson County Board of Elections for gaining ballot access for the September Primary Election and the November General Election,” officials wrote in a press release.

The form will be available at the Board of Elections on the 4th Floor of the Jefferson County Office Building at 175 Arsenal Street and at http://co.jefferson.ny.us/index.aspx?page=62.
