Canton 16, Massena 6: In Massena, the visiting Lady Bears scored three runs in four different innings to pull away for the win.

Beth Pearson and Emma Rexford combined to strikeout 10 in a four-hitter and Janelle Sovie lined a triple and a single to lead the winning offense.

Rexford, Kaeli Mace and Lauren Smith all stroked two hits.

OFA 11, Salmon River 1: In Fort Covington, OFA scored a solo run in the second inning and held a 2-0 lead entering the home half of the third when the Lady Shamrocks cut their deficit in half with a single run. The Blue Devils tacked on another run in the fourth then began to pull away to the win with a two-run fifth. OFA salted the victory away with a six-run sixth inning to pull in front 11-1.

Brittany Barr (7 strikeouts, 1 walk) picked up the win for OFA while Emily Tremblay (5 strikeouts, 3 walks) was saddled with the loss.

Mollie Ahrens led the OFA squad with a 3-4 game as Stacy Barr singled and tripled while Felicia Barr singled and doubled. Jocelyn Fifield and Riley Luckie had two hits each for the winners.

Salmon River scored its lone run in the third inning without the benefit of a hit. Kwas Laffin reached on an error and moved around to score on wild pitches. Tremblay had the lone hit for SRC, a single.

Salmon River is on the road for a doubleheader in Malone beginning at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Edwards-Knox 42, Potsdam 5 (5 innings): In Potsdam, the visiting Lady Cougars pushed across 11 runs in their first at-bat then put together back-to-back nine-run outbursts before settling for the win.

Harleigh LaBarge hurled two innings of hitless softball from the start to anchor a combined pitching effort that limited the Lady Sandstoners to four hits.

Kelsey Green was saddled with the loss.

Offensively for E-K, Shaye Tayler had three hits, including a triple, and came around to score five times. Aiken and Makayla Bacon both singled and plated four runs while Hall singled and scored once as the Lady Cougars took advantage of 37 walks and nine errors to generate the majority of their offense.

Green singled, doubled and scored twice for Potsdam. Erica Mason (run scored) and Jordan Emerson each singled to account for the other hits.

The Lady Sandstoners are slated to play at Massena on Wednesday starting at 4:30 p.m.
