Kayla Miles scored two goals within the final five and a half minutes as Immaculate Heart Central rallied past Carthage to record a 9-8 win on Wednesday in Frontier League girls lacrosse.

Miles totaled five points, including three goals, to pace the Cavaliers (6-4, 2-4).

Goalie Allison McElheran made nine saves for the Cavaliers.

Mackenzie Kidder tallied two goals and an assist for the Comets (2-8, 1-5), and Hannah Millich scored two goals.

GENERAL BROWN 12, INDIAN RIVER 7

Hannah Peebles provided two goals and three assists to lead the Lions over the Warriors (6-5, 1-5) in Philadelphia.

Taylor Rosette and Bryanna Fazio scored three goals apiece for General Brown (7-3, 4-2).

BOYS LACROSSE

CARTHAGE 19, LOWVILLE 0

Seth Leonard scored six goals, assisted on five others and made four saves in goal as the Comets blanked the Red Raiders in an interdivision game at Lowville.

Corey Boulio added four goals, while Bailey Wilkenson notched three goals and two assists for Carthage (11-1, 8-0). Lowville fell to 1-10, 0-8.

GENERAL BROWN 12, IHC 10

Jake Purvis recorded five points, including four goals, and scored the game’s final three goals as the Lions outlasted the Cavaliers in a crossover game in Dexter. Cole Johnson contributed three goals and an assist for General Brown (7-4, 6-2). Matt Moran and Nick Koelmel each registered three goals for IHC (7-3, 6-3).

BASEBALL

BEAVER RIVER 9, COPENHAGEN 0

Christian Widrick spun a two-hit shutout, striking out 13, as the Beavers blanked the Golden Knights (4-4) in a crossover game at Beaver Falls.

Jordan Boliver finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs for Beaver River (7-1).

SOUTH LEWIS 24, LYME 4

The Falcons’ Lucas Kelly went 4-for-6 with two home runs, a double, triple and five RBIs in a crossover win at Turin.

Dominick Ventura was 3-for-4 with three RBIs for South Lewis (9-1, 8-1), and Shawn Loomis contributed a double, triple and four RBIs. Troy Wilson of Lyme (0-9) tripled and doubled.

THOUSAND ISLANDS 16, ALEXANDRIA 4

The Vikings scored nine first-inning runs en route to a crossover win at Clayton.

Cameron Robbins led the attack for Thousand Islands (7-3), going 3-for-3. Chase Boyer was 3-for-5 with four RBIs. Colby Hunter recorded three hits for the Purple Ghosts (1-7).

CARTHAGE 9, MASSENA 7

The Comets avenged a 19-3 loss to the Red Raiders last Saturday by scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning of a nonleague game at Carthage.

Brandon Bush went 2-for-4 for Carthage (8-3) and drove in two runs.

SOFTBALL

A-P-W 6, INDIAN RIVER 0

Freshman Amber Rice struck out 11 and pitched a two-hitter as the Rebels blanked the host Warriors in a crossover game at Philadelphia.

Katie Palmer contributed a two-run single for Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (8-1), while Erin Stever added two hits. Heidi Amato tripled for Indian River (6-5, 3-4).

SOUTH LEWIS 5, LYME 1

Rachel Newell’s two-run double was the only hit the Falcons needed to capture a crossover victory over the Indians in Turin.

Drianna Crofoot scattered six hits and struck out nine in a complete game win for South Lewis (10-2, 8-2).

The Falcons scored five runs on just one hit, taking advantage of several fielding errors and passed balls.

Freshman Taylor Brown struck out five in a complete-game one-hitter for Lyme (3-7).

BEAVER RIVER 6, COPENHAGEN 3

Winning pitcher Taylor Buell finished 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI to help lift the Beavers to a crossover victory at Beaver Falls.

Erika Glenn added two hits, including a triple, and an RBI for Beaver River (3-6). Alicia Evans recorded two singles for Copenhagen (3-5).

LOWVILLE 11, SACKETS HARBOR 4

Haley Riley’s two-run double and Chelsea Koster’s two-run triple highlighted the host Red Raiders’ victory in a crossover game against the Patriots.

Catherine Lyndaker added two hits for Lowville (5-4).

Jordan Gonseth tripled to bring in a pair of runs for Sackets Harbor (1-11, 1-9).

THOUSAND ISLANDS 7, ALEXANDRIA 0

Casey Webb homered and pitched a complete-game six-hit shutout as the Vikings (5-4) earned a crossover win over the Purple Ghosts at Clayton.

Alexandria fell to 4-4.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

INDIAN RIVER SWEEPS

Felix Garcia won three events to pace Indian River to victories over South Jefferson and Sandy Creek in a Frontier League meet in Adams Center.

Darrius Bryant won a pair of events for the Warriors, who defeated the Spartans, 85-55 and the Comets, 123-17.

Nick Tyler won three events for South Jefferson, which bested Sandy Creek, 111-30.

CARTHAGE 75, BEAVER RIVER 66

Dewitt Alcorn captured the 100 and 200 and ran on the first-place 400 relay to help power the Comets (5-0) to a Frontier League interdivision victory at Carthage.

Cody Updike claimed the 110 and 400 hurdles and the long jump, and Alex Hall won the 800 and 1,600 and contributed to the fastest 3,200 relay for Beaver River (2-3).
