MASSENA: Lettie Rigler Stannard, 93 formerly of Massena, NY passed away on April 17, 2013 at Wesleyan Village Elyria, OH. A Mass of Resurrection for Lettie will be held on Monday (April 29, 2013) at 12:00 pm at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Donald J. Manfred presiding. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Lettie is survived by her children Constance R. and Dr. Stanley Filarski of Eugene, OR and Michael and Carolyn Rigler of Sun City West, AZ; also her beloved grandchildren Scott E. Filarski of Redmond, WA, Kristen Wilk MD of Seattle, WA, Eric Rigler of Liverpool, NY and Matthew Rigler of Massena, NY. Lettie leaves behind her great grandchildren Megan Filarski, Claire Filarski, Kate, Ryan Milne and Zachary Wilk. Lettie was born on November 13, 1919 in Fonda, NY to Harry and Lelah (Ingersoll) Ochampaugh. She graduated from Syracuse, University School of Nursing in 1940. On January 3, 1941 she married Joseph A. Rigler, her predeceased her on December 15, 1986. She later married Robert E. Stannard on July 9, 1989 in Elyria, OH, Robert passed away on March 30, 2013. Lettie was employed as a RN with Thomas Perdue, MD in Massena, NY, and retired from St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services. She was a communicant of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wellington, OH. At the request of the family memorial contributions may be made to Mercy New Life Hospice, 3500 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44053.
