MALONE — Shawn Clark lined four hits, including two doubles, to lead the Potsdam baseball team to a 7-3 win over Malone in a Northern Athletic Conference Central Division game Friday.

Will Coleman pitched the win allowing six hits, fanned 11 batters and allowed one walk mixing fastballs and curveballs.

Brandon Welch took the loss. He struckout four, walked none and allowed eight hits.

Brandon Noble added two hits, including a double, and drove in four runs for the Sandstoners (6-2 overall, 5-1 division).

Malone fell to 2-2 and 2-1.

Austin LaMay went 2-3 for Malone while Jake Henning had a triple. Jordan Yando added an RBI single while Welch and Shawn Mullivaner each singled.

Gouverneur 8, Canton 2: Matt Ashley stroked a two run triple and lined single and Matt Waugh ripped two singles and scored twice leading the Wildcats who scored four tyimes in the sixth inning to break open the contest. Cody Woods fanned three batters and walked three in the win.

Alex Hayes struckout 11 batters, walked two in an eight hitter for Canton in the setback. Jon Stone rpaped three singles and drove in a run while Bryant Wentworth connected for two hits and drove in a run.

OFA 8, Massena 0: The Devils took advantage of five Massena errors in the contest as OFA scored three in the first and posted single runs in the second through sixth innings in the shutout.

“We are a young team with three seniors. OFA’s Breton LaRose pitched very well and they played really solid defense,” said Massena coach Greg Paquin.

Breton LaRose fanned 10 batters, walked two and allowed three hits. Tyler Haas took the loss allowing two hits, three walks, one hit batter, and one earned run in four innings. Zack Rusaw finished the game with two strikeouts, one walk, three hits allowed and one earned run.

Pat Cosmo drilled a double and single for OFA. Konnor Murdock and Andrew Cole each stroked doubles while Jared Barr (RBI) and Dakota Brady each singled.

Issiah Dillabough stroked two singles for Massena. Connor Paquin added a single.

Brushton-Moira 5, Madrid-Waddington 1: The Panthers broke open a 1-1 tie with a four run fifth inning as Alex Burnett fanned six, walked two and allowed three hits and one run in five innings. Adam Martin struckout two, walked two in two innings of relief.

Adam Martin, Zach Burnett, Bobby Hooker and Alex Burnett (two RBI) each singled twice while Bryan Aubrey added a single.

Mike Thew, Greg Thompson and Jacob Barney connected for a single.

James Hunt fanned eight batters, walked none and allowed all nine hits in the setback. Terry Crump pitched an inning of relief.

Norwood-Norfolk 1, St. Lawrence Central 0: No further details at presstime.

Morristown 8, Morristown 2: Bobby Simmons pitched the complete game. Luke King had a double and a single.
