BEAVER FALLS — A 26.2-mile relay marathon has been organized for Saturday at Beaver River Central School, 9508 Artz Road.

The event is aimed at recognizing those killed or injured in the Boston Marathon bombings April 15.

The event is being held in conjunction with Lewis County Opportunities Inc.’s Surviving the Past, Challenging Your Future 1-mile challenge. Interested parties may register with Lewis County Opportunities at 9:30 a.m. for $8 per person. All participants will run the initial mile at 10:30 a.m. as part of LCO’s challenge, which will count toward the total number of miles a team earns.

Participants are responsible for keeping track of their own mileage. There is no limit to how many members may be on a team.

For more information, contact Mary Interiano with Lewis County Opportunities at 376-8208, extension 2425, or visit the event’s Facebook page at Boston, I Care-Athon team relay marathon.
