Brandon M. Duprey, 21, of 221 Clinton St., was arrested by Watertown police at 11:41 a.m. Friday in the 800 block of Arsenal Street on charges of petit larceny and inhalation of toxic vapors.

According to police, a few minutes after he was released from the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Mr. Duprey stole an $8.99 can of compressed air from Walgreens and intentionally inhaled the fumes with the intent to cause intoxication, inebriation, excitement or dulling of the brain.

He was arraigned at 11 a.m. Saturday and is being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $2,000 bail or $4,000 bond.

Mr. Duprey originally was charged with inhalation of toxic vapors at 9:42 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of Clay Street. He was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and held on that charge pending $100 police bail. He was arraigned and released at 11 a.m. Friday, approximately 40 minutes before his second arrest.
