The annual auction at St. Marguerite D’Youville Academy is scheduled for Saturday, and attendees will have a chance to bid on roughly 160 items to help raise funds for the elementary Catholic school.

“We’re hoping to raise money to help our students and get some more programs going for them,” Jennifer L. Smith, a member of the auction committee, said.

In particular, the academy is hoping to raise money for new computer equipment, art supplies and gym equipment.

Ms. Smith said the school wants to be able to bolster its academic offerings.

The fundraiser will include a live auction of between 75 and 80 items and a silent auction with between 80 and 100 items.

The live auction will include prints by local artists including Wilson Bickford, Mary Randazzo and Michael Ringer and a decoy by Richard “Dick” J. Hollis.

A stay at a beach on Anna Maria Island in Florida will also be up for bid, Ms. Smith said.

Porcelain dolls, gift certificates from restaurants in the area and an overnight package at the Hilton Garden Inn in Watertown will be part of the silent auction.

Ms. Smith said gift certificates for visits to Boldt Castle and Singer Castle will also be part of the silent auction.

Hors d’oeuvres will be served at the auction, along with wine and beer.

Ms. Smith said the community has been very supportive of the academy in the past, and the school is looking forward to continued support this year.

“We’re hoping to have another good turnout,” she said. “Last year we raised about $1,100. We’re hoping to raise at least that much and maybe more.”

The auction’s entrance fee is $15 for one person and $10 for a couple. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the auction starts at 6:30 p.m. at the school, 315 Gates St.
