ALEXANDRIA BAY A town of Alexandria man was taken to a Syracuse hospital after he was hit by a truck at his residence.
State police said Kenneth McDonald, 83, of 404363 Reynolds Road, was waiting to get into a truck about 11:44 a.m. when its operator, whom police did not name, backed up and hit him.
Police said that the driver lost sight of Mr. McDonald while reversing and that the vehicle was moving slowly.
A trooper said Mr. McDonald, who claimed overall pain following the accident, was taken to a nearby landing zone so he could be flown by helicopter to Upstate Medical University. His condition was not known Wednesday afternoon.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
