George E. Mead III has resigned as an attorney for Watertown law firm Schwerzmann & Wise, where he served for 12 years, to accept a legal counsel position for the Madison-Oneida Board of Cooperative Educational Services in Rome.

He graduated from New York Law School in 1980, providing corporation counsel for the city of Rome until he was hired by Jefferson County as an attorney in 1986. He became a DEC regional attorney in March 1999, and was hired by Schwerzmann & Wise, 137 Main Ave., in February 2001.
